The Bible is full of warnings for God’s people to stay away from idol worship.  We are an intelligent people – we know that worshiping a block of wood or a forged piece of metal is futile.  We don’t worship idols!  Or do we?  In part 3 of our sermon series – Discovering God from the Psalms – Heather examines how we can be worshiping idols without even being aware of it.

We are masters at creating false personas – facebook status updates and tweets on twitter are engineered and edited to portray us in a certain light.  There are very few people who knows us as we truly are – our honest, selfish, unflattering selves.  But Psalm 139 reminds us that there is one person who knows us better than we know ourselves, and – miraculously – He loves us anyway.  In this four-part sermon series, Heather examines how our families and communities can become healthier, safer places when we love others just as they are – the way God loves us.
