On this Reformation and All Saints Sunday, we honour those “saints” from our history – and our lives – who have assisted us along our faith journey, and we examine how we can serve as a “saint” to others.

We have been sickened and saddened by the news this past week out of China, showing the indifference of numerous people who actually WALKED BY a little 2-year old girl who had been struck by a car and lay dying in the street. This is a stark reminder that we – as humans – are far from living out Jesus’ commandment to love our neighbour as ourselves.
Heather tackles this difficult state of our world in this message, which you can listen to here:

As followers of Jesus Christ, we have duel citizenship – we are members of the society in which we find ourselves, but we are also members of God’s kingdom. Sometimes those two kingdoms collide, so how do we respond? Heather tackles that question in the following message which you can listen to here:

The Living Faith congregation was recently given The Wilfred Challenge! After preaching on the parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) the congregation was challenged to use their “talents”* to create more “talents” for the kingdom of God. We conducted a reverse offering – everyone was given $5 with the challenge to turn that $5 into more. The response has been amazing! People are creating hand-crocheted scarves, homemade jams, a shoe-shining service, paintings, photography, homemade rice pudding, carrot cake, soap, pies…the list goes on – all to support the work of Christ through this congregation.
We invite you to join The Wilfred Challenge yourself! Use your talent to create more talent for Christ!
*note of explanation: the word “talent” was used in the New Testament to signify a large sum of money. We like the play on words and are finding ways to use our God-given talents (crocheting, baking, photography, etc.) to create talents (money!) to support the ministries at Living Faith.

Thanksgiving is always a special day, but at Living Faith it’s EXTRAspecial! It was on Thanksgiving Sunday of 2007 that we held our very first worship service in our new church building. On this Sunday, we give thanks to God for the blessing of our church building, but we also crave that He would grant us His continued vision for our future. In this message, Heather reflects on how the details of celebrations such as Thanksgiving can sometimes cloud our vision of the bigger picture.

Have you ever found yourself griping and complaining that things are just not fair? Your boss overlooks your great ideas – your friends seem more consumed with their own issues instead of spending time with you – you keep working harder and harder each year but never seem to get ahead. It’s just…not…fair!
Well, Jesus taught a type of equality that is beyond fair – at least beyond our human concept of justice and equality. God’s equality is intended for ALL, not just those WE deem worthy.
Heather expands upon this idea in this message based upon Matthew 20:1-16.

Often, when we decide to follow Jesus we think our lives will be so much easier. It’ll be smooth sailing ahead. But it doesn’t work that way. Often, life as a Christ follower can be MORE challenging, MORE difficult. In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus explains that when we decide to follow Him, we must be prepared to pick up our crosses. What does that mean? What does that look like?
